![]() A modern day ballistic tracking system calculates all that not only from the firing point but all the way to target. ![]() The gyro can tell you where your shots "should" land at that distance, however it lacks all the modern day bells and whistles like a ballistic computer, to calculate air density, humidity, variances in temperature, and and wind pattern changes. However, it would be very rare to actually accomplish such a shot for several reasons, and only really effective against a static ground target or a bomber flying at very high alt and at a steady pace. Yes this is possible as the M2s are capable for firing effectively at those ranges. PS yes i know its a radar gun sight but a gyro one would also be usefull in a head on ![]() That would be EXTREAMLY usefull in a head on situation. The F-86's A- 1CM gunsight was able to calculate a firing solution up to 2 miles away. ![]()
